Coaches
Coaches
NCYSA is a volunteer-driven organization, and our coaches play a key role in creating a positive and meaningful soccer experience for our players. Coaching is a great way to get involved, support youth development, and give back to the Nelson County soccer community.
You do not need prior coaching experience to coach at the Rec Soccer level. Many of our coaches are parents, former players, or community members who simply have a willingness to learn and a desire to make a positive impact. NCYSA provides guidance, resources, and support throughout the season to help coaches feel confident and prepared.

Minimum Coaching License Standards
Rec Soccer
Rec Soccer at NCYSA is led by volunteer coaches. No prior coaching experience or formal license is required to serve as a recreational coach. The club welcomes parents, former players, and community members who are willing to support player development and create a positive team environment.
While coaching licenses and education are not required at the recreational level, they are encouraged. To support and reward coaches who pursue coaching education, NCYSA offers a Coaching Incentive Program.
