Our Program

Nelson Elite is NCYSA’s competitive soccer program. It's designed for players who are ready for a higher level of training, competition, and commitment. This program provides a structured environment that emphasizes player development, team play, and preparation for competitive matches. It's designed for players who demonstrate a strong interest in advancing their skills while continuing to learn the values of discipline, teamwork, and respect.

Who Is Nelson Elite For?

Nelson Elite is a good fit for players who:

Placement on Nelson Elite teams is typically determined through tryout evaluations and coach recommendations.

Nelson Elite teams compete in a variety of regional and state-level leagues to ensure players are placed in an environment that best matches their development and competitive readiness. Depending on age group and team placement,

Nelson Elite teams may participate in:

Kentucky Select Soccer League (KSSL) divisions
Kentucky Premier League (KPL) divisions
Great Lakes Conference divisions

Teams are placed in leagues and divisions that provide appropriate competition and meaningful development opportunities. League participation may vary by season based on team age, skill level, and league structure.

Travel & Match Play

Nelson Elite is considered travel soccer, meaning teams compete beyond the local area in organized league matches and tournaments. Nelson Elite teams regularly participate in regional tournaments throughout the year. These tournaments provide valuable competitive experiences and opportunities for team growth. Tournament participation and travel expectations vary by team and season.

Examples of tournaments Nelson Elite teams may compete in include, but are not limited to: Kentucky State Cup (Elizabethtown, KY), Javanon Cup (Elizabethtown, KY), Kick or Treat Tournament (Bowling Green, KY), Bash in the Boro (Murfreesboro, TN), Gatlinburg Spring Classic (Gatlinburg, TN), Triple Crown Cup (Elizabethtown, KY), Sky Spring Classic (Bowling Green, KY), and KYSA Challenge Cup (Elizabethtown, KY), Racing Louisville Showcase (Louisville, KY), Louisville City Showcase (Louisville, KY), Fall City Festival (Louisville, KY)

How to Join

Players interested in Nelson Elite typically participate in tryout evaluations. Information about tryouts are posted prior to each session. If you have questions about Nelson Elite or would like guidance on whether it is the right fit for your player, please contact the club at board.members@nelsoncountysoccerclub.com for more information.

Players attending Nelson Elite tryouts are expected to arrive prepared and on time, wear appropriate soccer attire (including shin guards and cleats), bring a soccer ball and water, and participate with a positive attitude and good sportmanship.
